This Project was performed by ESI for Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) - a major oil company operating in Turkmenistan.

The Project involved conducting of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and an Ecological Certificate (EC) for the activities including drilling, testing, and abandonment of four offshore exploration wells.

The EIS and EC were submitted by ESI to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment Protection of Turkmenistan, and they were adopted by this Ministry without any comments. This was the first full scale EIA conducted in compliance with all applicable environmental legislation of Turkmenistan and in accordance with international standards.
